From the Primary School

The busy term continues to wind up before the holiday break with still some important events to occur. Our Sports Day, Friday, promises to be an exciting event for the boys and an enjoyable one for the families. The P&F have been busy preparing to offer their service for the day. This is after all the hard work they undertook for the Blackfriars Prospect Road Autumn Fair, which was a great success.

Thanks to all involved especially Mr Patrick Kelly, our Director of Development & Community Relations and his team. We are also very grateful to the Prospect Rotary Club for their generous donation of the Buddy Bench which will take pride of place next to the Primary School playground. So if children (or adults!) are feeling lonely just sit on the bench and someone will come up to you and hopefully make you feel better.

On Wednesday of next week we have our Parent/Student/Teacher Learning Conversations (boys are dismissed at 1:00pm). You may already be booked in for this opportunity for you to catch up on your child’s progress through the eyes of the teacher and your son. We ask that you respect this time by not allowing your children to play on the playground or in the vicinity of the rooms so there are no disturbances to the conversations.

Some adults may have been confronted by the local Council parking inspector who issued a few fines the other day. Please be sensible and follow the traffic rules more for the safety of the children rather than the fine – though that will be hefty. Things like parking over the footpath in an attempt to get into the Kiss and Drop is very dangerous for the little ones who might be tempted to go around the car and hence step on to the busy road. Common sense please!

As this is our last newsletter for the term, on behalf of the Primary School, I would like to thank everyone for their support and wish everyone a safe holiday and a Happy and Holy Easter.

Don’t forget we end the day and term on Friday next week at the usual time of 3:05pm and commence Term 2 on Monday 29 April with Winter Uniform.

Regards,

Mr Frank Ali
