Thank you to all coaches, parents, teachers, managers, umpires and referees for their time and contributions to the Co-Curricular Program in Term 1. It is through the efforts of all these people that allow students the opportunity to participate in the sports or activities they enjoy. Looking forward to Term 4!

 

Winter Co-Curricular Sport

Winter Co-Curricular Sport will commence Term 2 Week 1. Nominations are currently being completed. Once fixtures have been finalised, they will be available via SEQTA. The training schedule is also being finalised.

 

Just a reminder to organise and purchase the new co-curricular uniforms for Basketball, Football and Soccer. These are all available from the Uniform Shop.

 

Referees and Umpires

We are looking for Football and Soccer referees / umpires for Term 2 and 3. All games will be played on a Saturday morning and are paid. If you are interested, please contact mparrella@bps.sa.edu.au

 

Catholic Secondary Schools Academy Cup

On Tuesday 2 April, Blackfriars Priory School competed against Nazareth Catholic College and Cardijn College in the Catholic Secondary Schools Academy Cup. This is an annual event between each school where a selected squad of Year 8 and Year 9 students from each Schools Soccer Academy compete and showcase their Soccer talents. Blackfriars finished runner’s up. Huge thankyou to Carlo Armiento (Coach) and Ernie Luongo (Assistant Coach) for taking the team.

 

Game 1

Blackfriars defeated Cardijn College 2 – 1.

Goals: Simon Sangu 1, Brian Habonimana 1.

Man of the Match: Brian Habonimana.

 

Game 2

Blackfriars defeated by Nazareth College 1 – 0.

Man of the Match: Ayrton Deutrom.

 

Student Achievements

First XI Cricket Captain Gurender Singh scoring 128 not out off 98 balls. An exceptional display of batting. His innings included 11x4’s and 8x6’s!
