State-wide Science Talent Search
In Semester 1, students from years 7-9 participated in the 2018 Science Talent Search. Some students developed posters or creative writing pieces based around the theme ‘Australian Game Changers or Change Makers’. Others completed experimental research or photographic studies.
Following assessment, twenty entries were sent for formal judging in the competition. Of these, three students have been awarded bursaries.
I would like to congratulate them on this wonderful achievement and all the hard work and effort they put into their entries.

Junior Italian Poetry Competition
The Years 7, 8 & 9 Italian students can be proud of their results of the 2018 Doncaster Secondary College Italian Poetry Recitation Competition. Congratulations to the Year 8 Italian Poetry Competition winners revealed in assembly during Week 1 of Term 4. Students were awarded prizes for their outstanding memorisation, pronunciation and expression. Year 7 & 9 results will be revealed in upcoming Year Level assemblies.

Year 7 Egyptian Museum
To celebrate the end of the Ancient Egypt History unit in year seven Humanities, and to give students a chance to show off their learning, we ran a Museum Day where students had an opportunity to create an Ancient Egyptian artefact. We were excited to see pyramids, mummies, pharaohs, Egyptian cooking, clothing and games. Congratulations to all students who participated in the events. Congratulations to the winners who were as follows:
