An Overview of our Learning

5/6A

Another term has come and nearly gone and what a group of Respectful, Resilient and Responsible learners we have here at Upwey South P.S. It continually makes me feel proud of the students I teach and the families I am lucky to be in contact with, when we are going through tough times and we still come together to support each other.

Firstly, I would like to thank my students for turning up to Remote Learning each day and completing the range of Learning Tasks we have set you. Nothing compares to you sitting in front of me being able to build relationships and see you grow, but to see the work you are producing and the standard that you are setting is remarkable!

Secondly, I’d like to thank the parents of our students who have continued to guide, support and monitor the personal growth and learning of these kids. It can be a tough gig but also such a rewarding one when you personally see your own children shine through these challenges.

Lastly, I want to thank the team of teachers that I work with. To know that a group of awesome professionals have my back on a daily basis is uplifting. The hard work and dedication you all give to USPS is outstanding. You have continually provided engaging lessons for all our students.

Have a relaxing holiday everyone.

Miss Humphries

I would just like to acknowledge and congratulate the wonderful efforts of our whole community,  as we approach the end of Term 3.

The students have been so resilient, flexible, creative, independent and persistent. The parents have been innovative to juggle jobs and become teachers, cooks, social workers, cleaners etc. You have been truly remarkable. As for me, did I ever think I would learn so much in my 40th year of teaching? Quite simply No. We have had two pre service teachers who have easily adapted to online learning and have made great connections.

Again may I just thank you for all you have done.  Enjoy the warmer weather, your families and hopefully your friends in the coming weeks. I look forward to seeing you in Term 4

Well, another term is coming to an end…does it feel like it’s flown or dragged to you? I personally feel like it has slowly passed by as we continue to navigate the complexities and challenges that we have faced during this phase of Remote Learning 2.0 and the Stage 4 Lockdown.

I am so proud of all of our little learners who have continued to try their hardest by attending Webex meetings, submitting tasks and asking for help when they need it. I am so proud of all the parents who have balanced their own jobs and still managed to support and encourage their children through this time of immense uncertainty.

Thank you so much for all your understanding, patience, kindness, hard work, flexibility and effort this term. I really do hope we can all be together in the classroom soon and I look forward to seeing all our learners’ smiling faces.

Mrs Cameron

What a welcome to Upwey South Primary School I have had. Thank you to the wonderful team of teachers and staff who have made it easy to settle down into a new job during isolation. Thank you to parents and families for their support, confirming what I know, that we live in an awesome community. I will continue to strive to give my best, to support all my fantastic students.

I have a wonderful class of students and they have been super fun to meet, wonderful to work with and they have proved that they have what it takes to be resilient in these funny times. This isolation has really highlighted to me that we are all learners and that we need to be flexible, patient and kind to each other and ourselves. Remote learning has shown me how students can thrive independently, look out for their friends and make my day by sharing their stories and experiences.
