Year 3/4B

On Thursday Year 3/4B worked in groups of three to Save Fred.

This activity was not only fun but also gave the children an opportunity to work together to solve a given problem.

The Task

Fred is a friendly gummy worm who took his boat ( a clear plastic container) out on the lake. However, Fred forgot to wear his life jacket (burger ring).

Unfortunately for Fred , a strong wind caused his boat to capsize. Now his boat is upside down. Fred is stranded on top of the boat and his life jacket is underneath. 

Children had to turn Fred’s boat right side up, place Fred back into his boat and put on Fred’s life jacket. To complete all steps children could only use paperclips! We had many ideas and strategies to try and save Fred. Children shared ideas, changed groups and even timed how long it took to save Fred. One group took 42 seconds!

Well done 3/4B on working together to save Fred!

      Twosday

On Tuesday 22/2/22 we celebrated Twosday! 

We wore costumes that related to the number 2, found pairs around our school and made a special crown to celebrate the day.

Maths

In Maths we are learning about colours and patterns. We created our own class rainbow by sorting objects based on their colour.

SMART Spelling

This week we are learning about the 3 sounds that we can hear in the word ‘ant’ and are beginning to read the sentence ‘That ant had a hat’. 

We made our own ants with a special pom pom hat!

Shrove Tuesday

Thank you to all of the amazing parent helpers that made pancakes for us on Shrove Tuesday. They were delicious!
