This art lesson was identifying inspirational public figures and what fields of expertise were to be recognised as being inspirational. 

We talked about how they were all determined, they never gave up on their dreams, passions etc.,  and came from a wide field of the arts, sciences, sports and environmental backgrounds.

These images were chosen as portrait studies by the Year 3/4 students based on the illustrations in the series of books titled " "Little People, Big Dreams" by Isabel Sanchez  Veraga. 

The lovely part was that many of the St James students were already familiar with this series of books, so some wonderful learnings about the character traits of these inspirational role models were shared before they even created their drawings.
