IDEAS

(Innovative Designs Enhancing Achievement in School)

Throughout this IDEAS process Mackellar Primary School has accomplished so much. We have created our school vision ‘Empower Global Citizens’ that is now embedded through the whole school. Now we are finalising our School-wide Pedagogy.

During our curriculum day on the 15th of March, we commenced our process of creating our School-wide Pedagogy. School-wide Pedagogy is a school’s expressions of its priority teaching, learning and assessment principles. We started the day with team building activities that allowed us to work together and gain ideas that we can use in the classroom. Then we began looking at Pedagogical Principles by reflecting on our own teaching practices and sharing it with others by seeing any common pedagogical principles that are in line with Mackellar’s Pedagogy. Staff members worked hard throughout this process and really enjoyed creating Mackellar’s Pedagogical Principles.

The principles that we created are Be Connected, Be Curious, Be Creative, Be Challenged. These principles are aligned with our Vision, our Values and the work we do at Mackellar. These principles were created to provide a vehicle that enable teachers to develop heightened connectivity in the learning experience of students across the year levels and subjects.

We are still continuing our IDEAS process and we hope you stay tuned to see what will happen next.
