Also at this meeting, we ratified the 2021 Annual Report to the School Community and the 2022 Annual Implementation Plan for Mackellar Primary School. On behalf of all councillors, I pass on a huge thank you to all of the staff for the success they achieved in the 2021 Report, and for the hard work and dedication that has gone into the 2022 AIP. Both of these documents will be available on our school website shortly.
Finance and Governance sub-Committee
Having had the 2022 school budget ratified in February, the Finance and Governance sub-committee tabled all relevant Finance Reports as well as the Budget Management Report for the February period which were then ratified by council.
Education sub-Committee
The Education sub-Committee had ratified three further policies which brings closer the total review of all required school policies. This has been a mammoth effort by this committee over the past 12 months with these latest policies available on our school website in the coming weeks. The three further policies are the:
- Personal Property Policy;
- Respect for School Staff Policy; and
- our Statement of Values.
Buildings and Grounds sub-Committee
The committee finalised plans for a range of works to be completed over the holiday period including the refurbishment of the grade prep classrooms and the grade prep/one hallway as the first part of our interior makeover. As mentioned previously, there will also be a new fence installed around our school perimeter over the break, and the oval will be reconfigured from an Under 17 soccer pitch to two FUTSAL pitches as well as two softball diamonds. All in all a very busy holiday period.
Our next meeting is scheduled for May 11.
Regards,
Vince Scarfo
School Council President
