Year 10 Work Experience
All Year 10 students will be completing Work Experience in Week 10 of Term 2. The dates for this are 22 – 26 June. This is a compulsory exercise for all Year 10 students and there will be no Year 10 classes during this week.
This is an exciting and enlightening opportunity for Year 10 students to gain hands on experience and learn more about themselves and career options.
Students have been given work experience packs and have had time in class to prepare for this. It is an expectation that students source the employer and make initial contact. After a placement has been confirmed the student, parent and employer must complete the Work Experience Record (green form). It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that this form is completed. The completed form must be returned to school 3 weeks prior to the work placement; this is a requirement for insurance purposes.
Friday 29 May is the final date for students to return their completed work experience forms

Cambridge Immerse 2015: An unparalleled educational experience in August 2015
The program:
Cambridge Immerse is a two-week residential educational experience that allows participants to gain an unrivalled insight into a chosen discipline, ranging from the arts to the sciences. Subjects offered include Medicine, Law, Economics and Engineering. Tutorials and seminars are taught by highly regarded tutors from Cambridge University in an optimal learning environment that stimulates academic enquiry; yet the carefully planned schedule ensures that the program not only meets the academic needs of the participants, but also provides a unique insight into the university city through an abundance of activities.
A carefully designed curriculum provides participants with an in-depth understanding of a wide range of topics, allowing students to share and develop more informed and engaging responses to key debates within each discipline. Students are challenged, and emerge more confident and ready to articulate what they have learnt, with knowledge of their chosen fields that provides fascinating insights beyond the school syllabus – and, of course, many unforgettable memories along the way.
Students reside in Queen’s College one of central Cambridge’s most beautiful university colleges. Within its historic walls, we pride ourselves on providing unique experiences of leadership and academic excellence through a program for participants that instills the confidence and passion for learning that are essential to success in higher education.
