Just Leadership Workshop

 On Tuesday 10th March, Brendan Joyce from Caritas Sydney, came to our College to run a ‘Just Leadership’ workshop focusing on areas of social justice within Mater Dei and the wider world. We were very happy to have Kildare student leaders and teachers join us for the day.  

The day started with a “Speed Dating” game where we grabbed a partner from opposing schools and had one minute to talk to them about injustices in the world, whether it be local, national or international. We then moved to a game called “Boxes” which focused on wealth distribution, how it is spread among the world’s population, and how unbalanced it is. We finished the day with a BBQ lunch together.

We thought the day was an eye opening experience, which made us more aware of all the disharmony and social injustice that exists in our world. The day has encouraged us to think about how we can address inequities here at the College.
