Principal's report

Mr Shaun McClare

I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which Kalinda Primary school gathers, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I would like to pay my respects to their elders past, present, and emerging.

Farewell and Good luck to Ms. Salmon

Ms. Salmon will be leaving the school at the end of the term to begin an exciting new chapter in her life as she makes a 'tree-change' to move to a school in the country. Ms. Salmon will be greatly missed and on behalf of the school staff and the school community, I would like to wish her all the best in this new adventure.

Ms. Salmon has worked at Kalinda throughout the last 4 decades (the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s). If you walk down the corridor in our main building you may have spotted her in some of the staff photos that are displayed on the walls, such as this one below from 1992 (can you spot her in the photo?).

Ms. Salmon is a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic teacher and I would like to really thank her for the legacy she is leaving behind at Kalinda.

Cross Country

I would like to thank all the parents who came along to volunteer and support your children at our Cross Country day last week. It was so lovely having parents back on site and the school beginning to feel like a community again. We will continue to find as many opportunities as possible to keep rebuilding parent involvement at school.

I would like to thank Mrs. Oakley for doing a wonderful job in organing the event and also wish her all the best as she goes on maternity leave next term. Mr. David Kight has been employed to replace Mrs. Oakley for the rest of the year. Mr. Kight is a highly experienced PE teacher and has been working regularly at our school as a replacement teacher throughout this first term.

2023 Enrolments

Enrolments are now open for 2023. It would be great to start receiving your enrolment forms for students beginning in Foundation (or at other levels next year). The sooner we receive enrolments, the sooner we can begin planning for next year. Please find the enrolment form below and it can be dropped in at the office, sent to the school via post (Kalinda Primary School, 39-49 Kalinda Rd, Ringwood 3134) or by email to kalinda.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

For any new families to the school, you are able to book a tour via the link below:
