Management of student non-attendance
Attendance rates were impacted in 2021 by COVID and close contact requirements. Despite this, our average student attendance continued to be high across Foundation to Year 7.
All student attendance is recorded through our Sentral database system and the class teacher and our Wellbeing Coordinator are both automatically notified if a student has more than 5% non-attendance or later arrivals in a term. This can then be gently followed up with families as required. More formal follow-up is provided when non-attendance reaches 10% for any given student in a term.
Families notify the school of non-attendance via the Sentral Parent Portal/App, phone or email. For planned absences of more than five consecutive days, the Principal is required to approve the absence requested via an exemption from school form.
