Outdoor Education

Year 11 Hiking Survival Camp

Both Year 11 Outdoor Education classes have just come back from the Cathedral Ranges, where they completed their Hiking/Survival camp experience. This was certainly a challenge for them having to carry all their equipment (clothes & tents etc), food and water required for two days Hiking. This was particularly enjoyable for this cohort, as both year level camps from the last two years didn’t go ahead due to covid restrictions.

The focus on the camp was to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours that promote safe and sustainable interaction with outdoor environments, while also providing the practical experience to complement their classroom studies.
