Principal's News

'Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness.'

Anne Frank

Dear Families

I trust each of you are well and are enjoying getting back into the swing of school life and that your morning routine is helping your child/children arrive at school ready to learn, play and be successful. It continues to impress the Fatima staff at how responsible and independent our students are with walking into school each day, talking their own bags in and getting set up and ready for the day!

The past two days we have held our Meet and Greet sessions, between parents/carers and teachers. I thank those who ensured they made an appointment time with the child's teacher.  We know that home-school collaboration is an important step in supporting a child's positive engagement in the learning and social aspects of school life. Families and schools have a common goal; to see children develop the skills for life and learning, to see children succeed, and to see children happy.

Yesterday, the school had a visit from Bishop Tony. The purpose of his visit was to introduce himself to the students, meet Year 6 students prior to Confirmation and spend time with Gill and myself discussing the Working together in mission document. Bishop Tony is very relatable and it was a privilege to spend time with him. Our four School Captains Louie, Lucy, Cooper and Elizabeth also had the opportunity to chat with him and sneak in a quick photo - it's not everyday the Bishop is in town!

In this week's newsletter, there is a dedicated page to our school uniform expectations. We have allowed a gentle return for the first few weeks and it is now time to ensure that we are following the school policy. I discussed this with all of our students today and said that all staff will be making sure all students are wearing the Fatima school uniform proudly. I do thank you for your support in this matter.

Also, if your child/children will be away for an extended period of time (over 1 week) due to circumstances such as a family holiday could you please send a courtesy email to principal@fatimarosebud.catholic.edu.au

In closing, I hope that each of you gave and received much love and kindness on St Valentine's Day last week and were able to spend it with those who you cherish. A scripture that I hold closely and shared with our students and staff on this day and will share with each of you is...

Kind regards

Sarah McDermott :)
