Day of Friendship - Friday, 31st July

We all remember our first childhood friend. The one we woke up excited to see at school. Play dates filled with adventure, excitement, fun and laughter. One of the greatest things about school is the relationships we build and maintain with our friends. Even now, as adults, our friends remain a hugely important part of our lives, from sharing problems, asking for advice, uncontrollable laughter and good times, sharing our life events and proudest moments, our friends help each of us define who we are.

The benefits of friendships are plentiful -

  • friends can positively influence our health
  • friends provide emotional support through good and challenging times
  • friendships help support our emotional and social develoment
  • friendships help to increase our capacity for empathy
  • friends boost happiness, well being and self-confidence
  • having friends lessens stress
  • friendships allow us to practise positive communication skills
  • positive friendships can help encourage positive behaviour

We thank God for the many blessings that our friends bring to our lives.

Sunday Masses

While we are still unable to attend mass in large numbers, there are some options available. St. Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne have announced that the 11am Sunday Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral will continue to be televised free to air on C31 as well as live streamed on their website and YouTube channel

The Oblate of Mary Immaculate are also continuing to serve their community during this time. Masses and Prayer Services are live-streamed from many of their churches/seminaries to cater for their communities.

Sacrament Celebrations

At this point in time the information from the Archdiocese of Melbourne is that Sacramental celebrations are still postponed. We will of course keep you updated regarding any information pertaining to the celebration of Sacraments for the students.

Have a good week and be good to yourselves.
