Dear Families

I trust that week 2 of Remote Learning whilst no doubt challenging, has gone as well as possible for families.

The online survey responses from Term 2 have been collated and are overwhelmingly positive and constructive in relation to our approach and response to Remote Learning. Our Wellbeing Leader will share some of the findings in next week's newsletter.

Further anecdotal feedback that I am getting this past fortnight from families, is that most children are coping as well as possible given the circumstances. Parents say that the students are better placed now as they are more familiar with the process.

Parents are also saying that the workload is manageable. The chance to catch up on a Friday afternoon has also been a bonus.

Another positive has been or will be the opportunity for students to engage with one another online through the  set up of Google Meets / Google Classrooms from Prep -6.

It is encouraging to hear that parents see that teachers and staff are  well and truly assisting with any queries / concerns in a timely manner.

We are aware that in every family there will be challenges and stressors. This is part of family life. Remote Learning however is not meant to be a constant battle field.  We need to be kind to ourselves and know that we are doing our best for our children.  Ensure that you are able to see the positives and continue to look for opportunities to strengthen the family relationships.

If you need to discuss any issue  please communicate with your child's teacher.

Please continue to do the right thing and follow all the government restrictions. We need to be looking after our families, and indeed the wider community.

Continue to keep in your prayers all those who have experienced loss, who are sick and suffering, who are anxious, lonely and  worried.

Staggered Starts and Finishing times for students onsite

A slight change in practice.

  • All students are able to be onsite from 8:30am – 8:45am. Students enter from the back gate.
  • All students working onsite will finish at  3pm.  All students can be picked up from this time at the back gate.

If your child is unwell in anyway please keep your child at home. You should be getting tested if you have any flu like symptoms.
Please contact the school immediately if any family member /close contact returns a positive test for COVID.

Parents access to school

Where possible, parents should remain offsite. If you require to come to the school office you are asked to:

  • wear a mask
  • sign a COVID Declaration Form
  • maintain Social Distancing

I ask that everyone reads the email communications from school. That way we are all on the same page!

Financial Commitments- School Fees and Charges

Once again I remind families that should you be experiencing  any Financial hardship in relation to the payment of school fees/ levies,  it is crucial that you let us know your circumstance,  so we can discuss  and plan a manageable way forward. These discussions/ meetings are confidential. As always the school  wishes to be  supportive of genuine financial hardship.

Communicating with us is an essential part of this process.

2021 Prep Interviews

Our online Prep 2021 Interviews for current families are underway. These have gone well and will continue until Friday.  As a current family your Prep child is automatically enrolled, but we will be sending you an letter of offer. It will be sent by email this week and we ask that it be scanned and  returned to the school as soon as possible.
