Music Matters

Dear Music community,

As we enter complete lockdown again, please stay positive and engaged with your instrumental teachers and ensemble leaders.

Log on to your lessons at the scheduled times on Compass and make sure you can turn on your camera and microphone.

Keep submitting videos of your playing to get feedback from your teachers too. We hope to be back at school in term four and at least perform a virtual concert, so keep practicing your parts and challenging yourself with new skills. We will really appreciate concerts, camps and competitions when we can do them again.

Year 7 Music Students

To the year 7s, although your experience in music this year has been very unusual, I have been so impressed with how you have all engaged with your lessons and rehearsals.

Although you don’t know any different yet, I can assure you that it will get much, much better.

Thank you for your patience and commitment to learning. It will all be worth it when this is all over.

Thank you parents and households for your patience and understanding with students practicing instruments at different times of the day. We understand how difficult it can be at times with everyone working and learning from home. We really appreciate all your support.

Stay safe.

Nick Dean, Music Coordinator
