Subject Selections for 2021 Year 10 Students
As the second half of the year has well and truly begun, our current Year 9 students must start looking forward to their move to Senior School next year.
With many exciting changes and opportunities coming their way, the Year 9 DiSCovery program has been heavily focused on future pathways to study and careers, providing students with an opportunity to explore what’s on offer.
At the end of last term students completed the Morrisby Careers Assessment, which, based on students interests, strengths and weaknesses, provided students with suggestions on possible career paths they may be interested in. Students then participated in a series of careers interviews to discuss these suggestions in greater depth.
This term our Year 9 students have been investigating the Year 10 Course Selection Handbook.
They have been prompted to think about their potential learning and career pathways, and participate in a range of conversations exploring these further. We hope that these conversations have continued at home.
In DiSCovery on 5 August, students were directed on how to complete the subject selection process. All students must have their subjects entered into the system no later than 4:00pm on Thursday, 20 August. Once completed, students are required to print out a copy of the subjects selected and have a parent/guardian sign the form before uploading it to a learning task on Compass called ‘2021 Course’.

Subject Selections for 2021 Year 9 Students
We are now heading into a very exciting time where our Year 8 students are invited to explore the subjects and learning pathways available to them next year.
Students have already completed a range of activities in their DiSCovery classes which required them to explore the 2021 Year 9 Curriculum Handbook.
We are hoping that the discussions started in their DiSCovery classes will continue at home over the coming weeks. To aid your conversations, a copy of the curriculum handbook can be found here.

To assist in answering these questions we will be holding a Q&A session through Webex on Monday, 10 August starting at 7:00pm. This event will also be filmed and made available to you in the days following.
