District Cross Country

Tom Nelson

On Thursday May 19th, Tom the PE teacher took 52 Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students to Harold Stevens Athletics Track to compete against 7 other schools in Cross Country races. The day didn't get off to the best start, as the bus we booked was accidentally sent to another school by mistake and it meant we were 45 minutes late. Massive credit to our students, they managed to keep their cool during this long and nervous wait and still managed to have a fantastic day of racing.

Once at the track, despite missing out on the pre-race walkthrough because we were the late, the kids competed in their races with maturity, determination and sportspersonship that I have become accustomed to at BNW. Thank you to all students for their amazing efforts, you made your PE teacher very proud.

A special mention to these students who finished in the top 10 and are invited to compete at the next stage on June 1st:

Hazel (LK)

Louise (CE)

Tilly (TK)

Luc (TD)

Jasmine (LF)

Neko (MM)

Elijah (MM)

Thank you to Andrew Lang and Ann Laming for coming along to support the students and all the parents who made it down to cheer the kids on.

Kind regards,

Tom Nelson
