If you are the type of person who is into architectural drawings and 3D model making, VCD is the subject for you! 

In Year 10 VCD, we have recently been focusing on creating floorplans and a 3D model making. Our task has been to create a shipping container home for a client. 

We created a floorplan and made it come to life by creating a model. 

We have developed the skills to use Adobe Illustrator and worked with various model-making materials such as foam, balsa, and acetate. 

It has been challenging to learn how to be precise with the measurements while making the model and floorplan. 

In addition, we also looked at the different examples of environmental design such as RMIT’s Ngarara Place and PAMS Healthcare Hub, hence learning about design elements and principles. 

Some of my classmates have said:

• “I enjoyed developing photography skills of my finished architectural product”. 
• “I enjoyed structuring my building with the materials used”. 
• “I enjoyed building the models and creating the floor plan”. 
• “I enjoyed the idea of having a long-term project”. 
• “I enjoyed generating a range of ideas for my model as we can be really creative with it”.
• “I enjoyed building up ideas and bringing them to life”. 
• “I enjoyed meeting people who share the same interest in VCD as me”.
