The Volleyball Victoria One Day Schools Cup competition was held throughout Week 3.

Maffra Secondary took 45 students to Dandenong to compete in this competition. All teams had very challenging games throughout the day but both teams remained persistent, determined and positive. The Year 7 Girls, Year 8 Boys and Year 9 Girls teams played incredibly well throughout the day, continually improving and working well as a team. Unfortunately, the scores did not reflect their performance on the day and they did not make it into the medal rounds. The Year 8 Girls and Year 9 Boys teams had more success on the score board, both teams making it into the Bronze Medal match. The Year 8 Girls played a great game but on the day MLC (Methodist Ladies College) were just too strong. The Year 9 Boys also played a fantastic game in the Bronze Medal match, being one set each, unfortunately Melbourne High School took out the third set. Both teams ended up 4th out of 20 teams which was a fantastic achievement. Throughout the day all of the students showed great improvement, consistent resilience and excellent sportsmanship that Maffra Secondary should be very proud of. A huge thank you to Miss Williams and Mr. Wheeler for helping on the day, Year 10 student, Regan Wright, for coaching the Year 7 Girls team and taking photos, and Sophie Allen (former MSC student) for refereeing on the day. Also big thanks to Maffra Volleyball Association for running training sessions leading up to the event.
