1/2 News…

On Tuesday 15th August, the Year 1/2's experienced a performance by Meerkat Productions. The performance was a rendition of a book shortlisted for Picture Book of the Year Award 2023 by the CBCA, titled Frank's Red Hat!

Frank's Red Hat is written and illustrated by Sean E Avery. This book is about Frank, a penguin with lots of ideas. Mostly terrible ones. That’s why his fellow penguins are nervous when he shows them his strange new creation. Something they’d never seen or expected to see in their cold and colourless Antarctic world — a red hat.

The story conveys the message about never giving up on your talents, because even though what you do may not be appreciated right now, it may be in time. Possibly by someone you’d least expect. 

The students were apart of the show by wearing their self-made penguin masks, and all colours of beanies. It was an exciting, fun and valuable learning opportunity!
