Year 11 Retreat

Our Year 11s went to Tinaroo for their leadership retreat last week. Thank you to Mr O’Farrell for his organisation and collaboration in this annual event, which was the start of the student leadership process. I'll let the student comments speak for themselves:

Student Quotes:

Hearing about my peers’ backgrounds and life stories was interesting

It was a   great opportunity to hang out with mates, get closer with the teachers and to get closer with our own emotions.

Hearing about Ms Nguyen and Mr O’Farrell’s stories was interesting, 10/10

This retreat was a very eye-opening experience.  It taught me the values of teamwork, communication and leadership as well as to become a more open and compassionate person.

The retreat has been the highlight of my school year.  It has helped me gained a sense of cohesiveness among the cohort which I value.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole retreat  and cannot pick one highlight.

Retreat is one of the events that will stay with me for life, great memories have been made.

The high point of the retreat for me was hearing Mr O’Farrell and Mr James giving us an insight into how they grew up into men.

Retreat was a worthwhile experience in helping push ourselves to become better people.

Retreat was the best thing I have ever done.

Overall the retreat was an experience of a lifetime and one I’ll never forget.

It was a peaceful time of reflection and I would recommend it to any other group or grades below.

The Mass where we all sang the Sub Tuum so loud and strong made it feel like family.

Getting to spend time reflecting and building relationships with not only the boys, but the teachers too was awesome.

It was an awesome time and a fun new experience; would do it again in a heartbeat.
