BBC vs Clayfield Netball

Last Friday, we welcomed BBC Year 12 students to Clayfield for a friendly game of Netball followed by a BBQ social. Clayfield students were in the lead until the decision was made to mix the teams to allow for a fairer contest. Thank you to the students who were involved.

Vaping Policy

Last week in Assembly, students were reminded of the College’s policy on vaping, smoking and e-cigarettes. The policy refers to the broader illicit drugs policy which outlines the College processes. Please see below some important information which can be found within these policies.

Procedures - Smoking and/or Vaping

Smoking cigarettes, including electronic cigarettes and other personal vaporisers for the delivery of nicotine or other substances, are not allowed on College property or at College events (including camps) or by any student in uniform.

Where there are reasonable grounds to believe that a student on College property or at a College event, or in uniform in a public place or in view of members of the public is in possession of tobacco or nicotine items as outline above, the Principal or Principal’s delegate shall be entitled to carry out all, or any of the following steps or any other steps the Principal considers reasonable and necessary to enforce this policy and to maintain proper order and discipline in the College.

  1. Arrange for a search of the student’s locker and personal effects and seize any tobacco or implements related to smoking. This search will be with another staff member in attendance.
  2. Any tobacco or implements related to smoking tobacco/nicotine found in the student’s possession will be returned to the parent/carer at the conclusion of all relevant inquiries. A signed receipt will be obtained and filed on the student’s personal file.
  3. Notify the parents / carers.

Consequences - Smoking and/or Vaping

First occasion: Suspension for not less than two days.

Any subsequent occasion: Further suspension or expulsion.
