Camp Australia News

A message from the Spring Gully Primary School OSHC Coordinator- Kylie

Science week is almost at an end- but our science activities and investigations have only just begun! So far we have been learning about aerodynamics and particularly the scientific knowledge, and engineering discoveries made by Australia's First Nations Peoples, such as boomerangs. Just like aircraft wings, these remarkable tools have been used for thousands of years! We have plans to investigate this topic further, by looking at wind technology and even making our own windmills! After that? Who knows? Maybe more renewable energy activities.... stay tuned!

Artistic flair is, as always alive and well in the OSHC room. Some wonderful creations have been made in the past few weeks, such as: paper chains as wide as the Manya building! Stained glass window artwork, using cellophane and beautiful drawings stuck together to create what can only be described as AWESOME!

The last item on the agenda, is our new menu! So, we will be trying out all the new recipes in the coming weeks. Yum!

Next week I will be 'wearing it purple day', on Friday as a show of alliance and support to young rainbow people. We will have purple wristbands available at OSHC (both in the morning and afternoon), for anyone wanting to join in and activities centred around rainbows. Who doesn't love rainbows?

As always, please feel free to drop in to the Manya building during after, or before school hours, to find out more about Your OSHC. Alternatively, information can be found on the office window or on our website: https://campaustralia.com.au

And, thank you Spring Gully Primary School Community, for your continued support of Camp Australia.
