Intersection at ATYP
Congratulations to two year 10 boys - James Reynolds and Raphael Hampartzuomian - for their outstanding performance at the Rebel Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday, 1st August. We travelled to the theatre from school on the train with our props and enjoyed the beautiful winter’s day weather and views of Sydney Harbour.
James and Raphael were excellent ambassadors for BMGS, working hard in their allotted rehearsal time. They had to adapt to a new space and incorporate the direction from Festival director, George Kemp. Both boys were focused, calm and professional.
Thank you to Miss Evans and Miss Coote for bringing the Stage 5 Drama classes to the theatre after school. The ten performances, written by emerging young playwrights, made their world premiere on stage. I am extremely grateful that we had the opportunity to be a part of these innovative and creative new works. It is so important to create places and spaces for young people to tell their stories. Initiatives like the Intersection Festival open a world beyond the school gates for our students to dream big and be filled with the optimism of endless opportunity.
