Whole School Concert

All musicians at BMGS are busily preparing for the Whole School Concert, which will take place on Friday 18th August, at 6:00pm, in Cuff Hall. Please come along to enjoy a fabulous night of music as we showcase all of our BMGS Junior and Senior music ensembles. Keep warm with refreshments from 5.15pm in the Senior Library Mezzanine (Pitt-Owen Building). Tickets ($10 Adults/$5 Students/$15 Family) on sale through TryBooking – advance sales only. Tickets are general admission and doors will open at 5:45pm.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Elective Year 9 and 11 Music students had the wonderful opportunity to attend an open rehearsal of the Sydney Symphony's Beethoven Concert at the Sydney Opera House, conducted by Benjamin Northey. During the rehearsal the orchestra performed Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 'Pastoral' and Piano Concerto No. 4, which showcased the talents of international pianist Javier Perianes.

There was also a special premiere of "Stabat Mater Symphony" Movement 1, composed by Australian composer Mary Finsterer. This composition featured the Concert Hall's organ, adding a unique and grand element to the performance.

Attending such events can be incredibly enriching for music students, providing them with the chance to experience live performances, observe professional musicians and composers in action, and gain insights into various musical styles and techniques.
