Principal's Message
Kerry Manders
Dear Parents,
Our senior students have been discussing with me their legacy at the College. I invited them to present this to our Year 7 students in Community PG. They spoke about the kindness and respect shown to each other. The compassion and positivity shown when trying (especially if their peers are not succeeding). They spoke about being people who care and respect others. Thank you, Year 12 students, for living out the St Mary's way. It was good for our newest members of the community to hear this and see it in action. I made it very clear to our Year 7s that mean spirited or nasty behaviour is not accepted at our College and it is certainly not the St Mary's way. We encourage every student who sees it or experiences it to contact a member of staff or one of our senior students to seek support. We look forward to growing every person through the faith to make things possible. Through hope to make things work. Through love to make things sacred and special, as with God all things are possible.
I wanted to let you know that I will be taking three weeks long service leave from today. I have the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Lisbon and then on to the Holy Lands. James Roberts will be Acting Principal across this time. Please email James on smw.principal@cns.catholic.edu.au should you need to contact him during this time. I ask that you keep me and the other pilgrims from the Diocese in your prayers across this time. I am excited about this amazing opportunity and look forward to sharing the experience on my return.
God bless,
Ms Kerry Manders
