Learning & Teaching

What are we learning about at HS?

Thank you for everything you are doing throughout remote learning. We are lucky to work with you all.

This week is Science Week

The theme this year is Food: Different by Design. There will be experiments and quick activities for you to complete throughout the week. Activities are also available on our Science Week page on the Google Site https://sites.google.com/hsringwoodnth.catholic.edu.au/learning-at-home/science-week-2021

We had an incursion booked for this week but unfortunately it is unable to go ahead. The date has been moved to Term 4 - cross fingers we will be back at school and able to have visitors onsite.

Enjoy being scientists this week!!

Book Week

Book Week will be held from 23rd - 27th August. The theme for Book Week this year is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. Students will complete various Book Week activities throughout the week, focussing on the nominated books for 2021.

We are inviting all the students to dress up on Friday 27th August - while at home - in whatever way they want. The theme is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds, so it is a great way to be creative and create your own characters using what you have at home. We will be showcasing our costumes and Book Week during our whole school Assembly on Friday.

ICAS English & Mathematics Assessments

This week we were meant to hold our ICAS Assessments. As we are not currently learning onsite, these were unable to happen.

The sitting window for schools in lockdown has been extended. The new dates are in October.

  • Wednesday 13th October: English Assessment
  • Wednesday 20th October: Maths Assessment

An Operoo permission slip will be sent to families who have enrolled their children into one or both of these assessments. This form will reflect the new assessment dates.

Keep smiling!
