Principal’s Message

Mr Nick Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that all our dads, stepdads, grandfathers and special men had a great day yesterday to celebrate Father's Day! It was very unfortunate that we could not celebrate together last Thursday as was originally planned, however I'm still hopeful we can have all our dads into school before the end of the school year to show our thanks for all you do.

A very big thank you to all our families for the amazing work you are doing with your children throughout this Remote Learning time. We know that it is extremely difficult to juggle your own work from home whilst supporting your child in their learning as well, so please do not be too hard on yourself if they (or you) need to take things a little slower at any point. Our aim in providing remote learning activities is to make it as easy as possible for parents and children to engage with the work and to simply keep things ticking over. Obviously, we are very hopeful that the regional lockdown will be lifted this Friday and we will be able to return to school next week. As soon as we have any information, we will be in contact with families. We are also very mindful not to have too much on computers during Remote Learning. The screen-free Fridays will continue whilst ever we are in lockdown. It is a day to complete some activities offline and away from the computer - I'm hoping our dads got some great artworks as a result yesterday!

In today's newsletter, you will find some more information to support your wellbeing at home from Mrs Roseby. This week, the focus is on ensuring everyone has movement breaks through the day to support not just our physical wellbeing, but also our mental health.

Thank you again for all your work during this time. Do not hesitate to reach out if you need any support or advice from us here at school. Fingers crossed, we are all back together next Monday!

Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Nick
