Remote Happenings

In the senior 'classrooms' we have been looking at advertisements as a part of literacy and our inquiry unit ‘Do We Really Need That?’.  We looked at advertisement techniques: 

  • ethos [building credibility with endorsements by well known/famous people]
  • pathos [evoking an emotional response], and
  • logos [using facts and figures] to analyse and interpret popular adverts.

Using what we had learnt, students then had the opportunity to create their own advertisments.

During Inquiry, the 3/4s have been building on their understanding of cultures around the world and the culture of those around us. This week, students were asked to interview a family member asking them questions about their culture.
