Class 6

Virginia Mason

Class 6 has been busy in Term 1. The students have been learning to measure objects using informal units such a cubes and paperclips. We measured our feet using cubes and were surprised at who had feet the same size. We explored the garden and learnt all about Slater bugs, also known as Pill Bugs and Roly-Polies, we discovered they weren’t insects but crustaceans! We learnt how they are different from insects and where to find them, under rocks where the soil is moist. We have also been learning about body percussion in music and how to make rhythms using clapping, stomping, patting and snapping. Each student has enjoyed making a rhythm that the rest of the class has to repeat.
