ANZAC Day celebration

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served".

The Student Leadership Team lead the ANZAC day ceremony at Jacana School for Autism on the 26th of April 2023. Student leaders Summer, Jacob and Emily could be heard delivering a commemorative address over the loudspeaker at 11am. Student leaders Mason, Vincent, Tyler, Ela, Aaron and Peter lowered the flags leading the minute of silence. All student leaders demonstrated JSA’s school value of ‘Respect’ and should be proud of their efforts on the day.

During this time, we will remember all the sacrifices that people have made for us during wars.

In class, we will also honour ANZAC by doing special activities to learn about war and peace.

Well done to our hard-working student leaders and a special thanks to Lauren, Irene, Amanda and Linda for helping on the day.
