Cross Country

This is a reminder that Cross Country Trials will be held next Wednesday, 3 May, starting at 9:15 am.

Students in Years 1- 6 will be required to be dropped off at Cook Oval from 8:30 am. Forest Coach Lines will also drop students who catch the bus off at Cook Oval. Students are required to wear their sports uniform and bring a hat, water bottle and snacks for Morning Tea. Parents and welcome to attend.

Kindergarten will be staying at school with their class teachers Mrs Teagan Lucero and Mrs Vanessa Constable, and completing their own fun run. Kindergarten students will also be required to wear their sports uniform.

At the end of the event, approx 11:30 am, a bus has been booked to return all students to school.

Only Lunch will be available to order via the school canteen on this day.

We will congratulate all students who participate in the cross country by awarding house points for both placing and participating. This an exciting prospect for another house competition! Students who do not complete the allocated kilometres will not qualify for the Diocesan level.

The age divisions and events are as follows:

We will run girls and boys together and age groups separately on the day.

Age Divisions are:

8/9 years

10 years

11 years

12 years

We will be running a 1km loop around Cook Oval.

2 kilometres : 8/9 years & 10 years.

3 kilometres: 11 years,12 years.

In the past, we have used Cross Country and 800m times to determine an entry time for the 1500m for further representative honours. This year, we will run an optional 1500m race in the early morning of the St Joseph’s Athletics Carnival.

Also, a big thank you to all those who have volunteered their time to help out on the day. All volunteers have been invited via Compass and will be contacted before the end of the week.

For further information and to access parent permission for this event, access the Events page via your child’s profile on the Compass app, or, alternatively, go to by Wednesday, 3 May

All Canteen orders are to be placed via the Compass app each Wednesday by 9:00 am.
