Stencil Art Workshop

Stencil Art Workshop

This week, a select group of year 9 and 10 Art students were fortunate to be part of a stencil workshop. The incursion was facilitated by two street artists Damien Arena and D’Arcy Savage, together with a representative from the Melton council.

The artists introduced our students to the street art technique of stencilling. Each student went through the process of developing an idea, cutting a stencil and spray painting their final art piece.

The students experimented with multiple application techniques modelled by the artists. At the completion of the workshop, each student took away a final stencil artwork on canvas, which they created themselves.  The visiting artists awarded prizes to two students who had shown the highest level of technique and creativity. The successful students received original stencil art pieces produced by the artists themselves.

Prize winners Dylan Oliveira and Teagan Dial with street artists Damien Arena and D’Arcy Savage.
