Violin Success for Jake Park
If you’ve been to any music event at Staughton College in the last two years, you’ve probably witnessed the outstanding talent of Year 8 SEAL violinist, Jake Park. Recently, Jake has been putting in extra hours of practice with his Instrumental Music teacher, Hilary Odgers, in preparation for his Grade 6 AMEB Exam.
The Australia Music Examinations Board assesses students nationally on their ability and skill in music performance and theory, as well as speech and drama. They provide a national benchmark and measure of excellence through graded exams.
Last week, Jake completed his Grade 6 AMEB Violin exam and was awarded Honours!
The AMEB judge commented that Jake “showed excellent memory, technical control and sophisticated musical insight.” In addition, his performance was described as “spirited and well-controlled.” We’re so proud of Jake’s efforts and accomplishments in violin. Well done to Jake and his teacher Hilary!
