In Second Term Upper Primary students did a unit on food titled From Farm to Table. We looked at the different journey fresh and processed foods take to reach our table. We learnt that many different things can happen to processed foods and that some processed foods are good for us while some are not so healthy. We decided to call these sometimes foods. We read a number of fiction and non-fiction books to help us learn about food and it's importance in ours and other cultures. Our favourite processed food to study was chocolate. Chocolate has a long journey to our table and along the way goes through many different processes. At the end of the unit we did a project about our food using the application Popplet on the iPad.

The RSPCA Cupcake Week was a huge success!

From August 21st to 25th the Secondary 7/8 classes prepared over 200 cupcakes in Food Technology in support of our RSPCA fundraiser. Each student took great care in baking, icing, packaging and delivering the cupcakes to the respective classes. We would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the secondary parents and carers who supported this event. The RSPCA will be thrilled to receive over $555.00 in donations!
