Welcome to new staff

Grace Wendiggensen
Hi, I’m Grace Wendiggensen. I work as part of the Individual Needs Office. My role is to assess students who have learning disabilities, speech (articulation issues), language (ability to use and understand language), social and fluency difficulties (stuttering). I provide individual and group treatment. My role sees me working with all members of the school community, including teaching staff, coordinators and parents to meet students’ academic and speech pathology goals.
My interests are gardening, reading and visual arts. I have a rabbit named Felix (who lives in the back garden and eats my veggies!).
Ashima Ghuman
Hi, my name is Ashima Ghuman and I have been newly appointed as a Humanities Teacher at St Albans Secondary College. I am teaching Year 7, 8 and 9 Humanities and Learning Manager and Year 7 Comprehension. I am not completely new to the school as I had worked last year and in term 1, 2017 at SASC wherein I taught Law, Drive and Survive and Business to the senior classes of the school. I finished working as an Accounting, Legal Studies and Humanities Teacher at Laverton P-12 College in term 2, 2017. Working at different schools has helped me grow as a teacher as I came across students from various cultural and social backgrounds with unique cultural beliefs. It makes my job more interesting by adding fun element to it and challenging at the same time. I enjoy reading a lot and the best book that I have come across till now is The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. I am a huge fan of Indian (Hindi) Music but I have started enjoying some famous English Tracks too (Cheap thrills is my favourite). I have some pet budgies (mostly maintained by my husband) but I would love to have a dog (not a big one). I enjoy medium intensity work out, dancing and reading during my free time, and yes, shopping is another big one.
Justin Gourlay
I’m extremely excited to be joining the science team here at St Albans Secondary College. I’ll be bringing my love for science and years of experience in cancer research to my role here as the new junior school laboratory technician. Along with my passion for science I’m also heavily involved with sports, particularly baseball. I’m looking forward to the future and becoming a part of the St Albans Community.
