THE AWAKENING OF SPRING - YEAR 12 PLAY

A sell out every year - the 2019 Year 12 Theatre Production is always a hot ticket - do not be disappointed - book now!

Adapted from the 19th-century production by Frank Wedekind, The Awakening of Spring paints a haunting picture of the systemic injustice in our society. Originally set in 19th century Germany, this oppressive setting is reinvented for modern audiences to serve as a backdrop for the events that explore the themes of adolescence, abuse and corruption. Performed by the theatrical talents of the 2019 Fitzroy High School and Collingwood College Year 12 Theatre Studies cohort, it's a show not to miss.

Please note: Strong themes and content are presented including the depiction of sexual assault and suicide. It may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.

On the night, alongside the production, the students will be creating a Mini White Night at Collingwood College by projecting art works onto the walls of our buildings.

AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION

The Australian Mathematics Competition will be held on Thursday, 9 August.

This event has traditionally been well represented by our students, and there are many past papers for students to practise with beforehand.

The cost this year is $8 per student.

Students will need to pay through Compass once enrolled. Parents will be notified when enrolments are confirmed in June. Don't pay until then.

Those students who have done the Maths Competition in the past have enjoyed it and they all receive a certificate for their participation and achievement.

WOOLWORTHS - EARN AND LEARN VOUCHERS

Collingwood College will be participating in Woolworths Earn & Learn Program for enhancing our sporting equipment.

It is simple to participate - when you shop at Woolworths you can collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers from the checkout operator, or through an online order, and place them into our collection boxes located inside our local Woolworths store on Smith Street or within our reception area.

Our school will then redeem the Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers for valuable sporting equipment for our students to access at recess and lunchtime.

Let’s all get behind this promotion to help support our students in keeping active and enjoy the many benefits of healthy exercise.
