CYBER SAFETY AWARENESS PRESENTATION FOR PRIMARY PARENTS
Dear Parents and Carers of primary school students,
On Monday 30th July at 6pm Collingwood College will be hosting a cyber safety awareness presentation by ThinkUKnow, specifically for parents of primary school aged children. Cyber safety issues arise each year in all levels of the primary school, in particular Year 2 and up.
ThinkUKnow is a free, evidence-based cyber safety program for Australian parents, carers and teachers and students. It provides information on the technologies young people use, the challenges they may face, and importantly, how they can be overcome. Presentations are delivered face to face or digitally.
They aim to provide you with the tools to create a safer online environment for young people in your care. Their presentations cover what young people SAY, SEE and DO online and cover topics such as social media reputation management, cyberbullying, ‘sexting’, online grooming, online gaming, inappropriate content, privacy management, identity theft, how to protect your devices, and how to report matters when things go wrong.
The program bridges the knowledge gap between adults and young people so that everyone has an understanding of the roles they play and what they can do if something goes wrong online.
Please join us on Monday, July 30 from 6:00-7:00pm, location TBC (pending the works in the theatre).

2019 PREP ENROLMENTS
Our 2019 prep enrolment is filling faster than expected. This is a concern as I know of a number of siblings that have not enrolled as yet.
Please, if you have a young one starting next year, collect an enrolment form at the front office and return ASAP.
Thanks,
Sam Luck

DENALI - A PREP CHAMPION FOR COLLINGWOOD COLLEGE
Earlier in the year, Denali from Prep A came off his scooter on the bumpy footpath along the south boundary of the school. He wondered why it was in such dire condition. So Denali and his family inspected around the school, and raised some issues with City of Yarra Council. The council have fixed up the issues during the winter break, and it's much improved! They also got to meet up with the engineer on site. Denali is now listed as a Champion for Collingwood College on the Streets Alive Yarra site. Click HERE to read more and see photographs of Denali and his work.
You too can become a Streets Alive champion for your local area by contacting City of Yarra about any safety issues you notice on our streets.
