Principal's Report
Dear members of the St Raphael’s school community.
We have nearly come to the end of term 3, it is hard to believe we are in the season of spring and heading towards summer.
It has been an amazing term of achievements.
We started the first day back with a professional development day for the staff working with Philip Holmes Smith, the highly respected guru of data analysis. In that first week we also had a very special visit from a horse named Sub Zero! Also in that first week a visit from our teaching colleagues in South Australia who heard what a great school St Raphael’s is and they came to have a look.
The month of August was truly a very beautiful and blessed month, our year five students and their families warmly welcomed our new Foundation students for 2018 with Raphael the cuddly bear.
The year four students celebrated their First Eucharist on two beautiful Sundays.
Also in this month the students in years 3 and 5 received their NAPLAN results, we were very proud of these students and their results were excellent.
The hard work and dedication of a group of parents ensured the students now have a wonderful sound garden. What a joy it is to watch the students enjoy such an engaging playground.
Fathers’ Day was a very successful day starting with a big breakfast, followed by dads learning along side their children, finally lots of fun kicking the footy at the park.
Parent Teacher Interviews is another great opportunity to celebrate the children’s achievements.
Year 3 students will be celebrating the Sacrament of Penance for the first time on Thursday 14th September. We pray for these children and congratulate their teachers and families in preparing them so well.
Year 3 and 4 students are off to Sovereign Hill for a two day camp. We wish them lots of learning and of course fun!
These are just a few, there have been lots more........
Congratulations to the staff, students and parents on a great term, as we know when we work together we can achieve a lot!!
Term two will conclude on Friday 22nd September at 3.30 pm. There will be no school assembly next Monday 18th September. An end of term assembly will be held on Friday 22nd September at 2.45 pm.
