Interschool Lawn Bowls - Warrnambool Division

On Monday 6th March, 3 teams of 12 students from Years 5/6 participated in the Warrnambool Lawn Bowls Interschool Competition held at Warrnambool Bowls Club.

All teams played at least 3 games which gave our students a great opportunity to improve their skills and have lots of fun. It was a great day with all of our WEPS students bowling really well throughout the day.

The encouragement, support and perseverance shown by all of all WEPS students was pleasing to watch.

Several of the Warrnambool Bowls Club helpers commented on how well our students behaved and the respect they showed throughout the day. This is a credit to everyone who participated.

Congratulations to all the teams. Warrnambool East 3 have qualified for the Regional finals to be held in April.

Also a big thank you to Warrnambool Bowls Club for their assistance in coaching the students throughout the day.

Thank you to all the parents who came along to support the students. Your efforts were greatly appreciated.

                           South West Division                                            Swimming Championships

On Thursday 2nd March 5 students from our school participated in the Division Swimming Sports in Warrnambool.

Congratulations to Nicholas Jukawics, Ned Shaw, Olive Remine, Elfie Bourger Hughson and Miranda Jansz.  Competing against the best in our local divisions in the South West area all the students said it was a great experience.

They all mentioned they did their best against some very strong swimmers from other school. It was great to see that many of our students beat achieve some PB’s throughout the day.

A special congratulations to Nick, Ned and Miranda and Olive who qualified to represent our Division in the South West Regional Championships to be held in Horsham.

Many thanks to all the parents who supervised their children at the event and providing transport for them.  WEPS greatly appreciate your efforts at the sports.

                     Greater Western Region                                        Swimming Championships

On Tuesday 14th March in sweltering conditions Miranda Jansz, Nicholas Jukawics, Ned Shaw and Olive Remine represented our school and Warrnambool Division in the Greater Western Region Swimming Championships.

Drawn next to each other Nick and Ned had a fantastic swim with both achieving a new PB in the 50m Freestyle.

Miranda came away with a silver medal in the 50m Freestyle and swam excellently to finish in 4th for the 50m Backstroke.

Up against some very tough competition the four students competed in the 12/13 Mixed 4 x 50m relay finishing 6th in our Region.

A huge thank you to Emily and Susan who transported the students to Horsham and managed them on the day. I really appreciate the support.
