Learning Community 2

It's been a fun filled two weeks in LC2!

In Reading we have been learning about the comprehension strategies of predicting and visualising. Both these strategies requires the reader to use the text clues along with their prior knowledge. It has been great to see students demonstrating these skills confidently!

In Writing, we have continued to explore the Persuasive genre of writing. Students have been learning to create a five paragraph writing piece that includes an introduction, three body paragraphs and a conclusion. They have been working on using persuasive devices to make their arguments even more convincing for the reader.

In Maths we have been working on subtraction, and fact families. Fact families are related maths facts, such as addition and subtraction. Students practised solving subtraction sums by borrowing. They created a 'villiage' of fact family houses to show the relationship between three related numbers.

On Friday the 3rd of March, students had an absolute blast at the Maths Incursion!

Also, just a reminder that on Monday it is a Public Holiday. On Tuesday we have our Great Mates Incursion. We look forward to another great few weeks in LC2!
