Student Bathroom Referbishment

We are pleased to advise that the Student Bathroom Refurbishment works will commence in the upcoming school vacation period. It is expected that the works will take 12 weeks, with the facilities reopening at the start of term 3.

We have worked hard to make this a smooth process, but we expect there to be some disruptions:

  • There will be no access to the Indonesian room or LA10 externally. These rooms will need to be accessed internally.
  • Both student toilet blocks will be closed for the life of the project.
  • A temporary student toilet block will be situated in area 2 (see map below)

We look forward to this upgrade for our students and appreciate your patience during the works.

Welcome to new members of School Council and election of office bearers

All government schools in Victoria have a school council.  School councils are legal entities that are given powers to set the key directions of a school within state wide guidelines.  In doing this, our school council directly influences the quality of education that our school provides for our students.  School councils have three main responsibilities:

Finance: overseeing the development and expenditure of the school’s annual budget and ensuring proper records are kept of the school’s financial operation.

Strategic planning: participating in the development and monitoring of the school strategic plan.

Policy development and review: developing, reviewing and updating selected policies that reflect aschool’s values and support the school’s broad direction outlined in its strategic plan.

At the March meeting of School Council, we welcomed our School Captains:  Phoebe Absolom, Addisson Harbour, Oscar Hoiles, Otis Stretch, as co-opted members of School Council.  Students have a unique perspective on learning, teaching and schools. We believe having student members on school council allows students to have a say in the future direction of their school and ensures student input into decision making. Student representation on school council also assist in the developmentof students’ skills, including leadership skills and communication skills.

Paul Zelenewicz, has been re-elected as School Council President for 2023. He will be ably supported by Shane Dove, who was elected as Vice President. 2023 will be Shane's arah’s second year on school council.Naomi Landmeter- Assistant Principal and Teacher Representative, has been reappointed as Treasurer.

Thank you and congratulations to all office bearers.
