What's on in the Community Hub?

'St. Anthony’s Community Hub provides access to services that help families support their children.'

Hello Everyone

This term we have been very busy organising many activities in the Community Hub and School.

Grants and Donations

As a result of a grant from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing we have been able to provide fresh fruit and vegetable boxes along with other pantry food staples each fortnight.  The Pop Up Market has become very popular but sadly this will finish at the end of May 2023.

Families seeking food outside of the Pop Up Market can contact these organisations:

  • Food relief in Noble Park or surrounding areas please contact: Sikh Volunteers weekly food van  Wednesday's 6pm-7pm behind Coles Noble Park
  • Keysborough Learning Centre Open Door provides emergency food to people who are in need of assistance in the City of Greater Dandenong.  Call 97987005 for more information.
  • Dandenong and District Benevolent Society - 9am-3pm Food Parcels 2/48 McCrae Street Dandenong Salvation Army Dandenong Food parcels Phone: 03 9794 3500
  • Salvation Army Dandenong Food Parcels - 97943500

St Anthony’s have been selected for Together For Humanity’s Intercultural Understanding Partnerships Program (ICUP).  This means St Anthony’s will receive a grant to put towards a project that addresses an intercultural challenge as well as consultation time with intercultural experts from Together For Humanity and partner organisation Jewish Christian Muslim Association of Australia.   This will provide learning opportunities for teachers including our school closure day on April 24 which will see teachers visiting local places of worship. Senior students will also get the opportunity to visit early next term. Some of the proceeds of the grant will be used for Harmony Day.

Chobani Yoghurt have been generously donating yoghurt, fresh fruit and refurbished laptops to our school and community hub. The donation of yoghurt has been a wonderful addition to our Breakfast Club which now operates twice per week on Tuesday and Thursday.

The refurbished laptops are now being used by the Adult Learning Program Computer Classes.  This is a much needed upgrade to the laptops previously used.

Many thanks to Hoa Hiep Hot Bread in Noble Park who have generously been donating bread each week so we can provide toast at our breakfast clubs.
