Hearty congratulations to Abbi Kelly (Year 11) who successfully applied to participate in the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program.  Abbi has already made connections through this program, having participated in welcome activities.

Abbi Kelly

Year 11

It feels like a great honour to have been accepted into the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program at the University of Melbourne, and I can't wait to see what the program will offer over the next two years. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to engage with the University of Melbourne and connect with other Year 11 students from all around the state. I hope that this program will provide some enrichment to my VCE studies and ease my pathway into tertiary study.

About the Program

The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program is an academic enrichment program designed to support high achieving Year 11 and Year 12 students. The Program is offered as part of the University of Melbourne's wider academic reach, and every year there is strong competition from students across Victoria to earn a place on this program.

Successful applicants are offered the rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of university life. They are invited to attend a range of events and activities to promote their academic and personal development, including VCE revision lectures, personal development workshops, overnight adventures on campus, celebration events with family, access to a myriad of the university's learning resources and much more. Participants who meet specific criteria may also be considered for guaranteed placements in the undergraduate degree of their choice.
