House Spirit

We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated in our annual Swimming Carnival last Friday. A huge congratulations to Perugia House, who took out both the House and Participation Cup. The atmosphere was palpable, and House spirit and rivalries were on full display in equal measure. But sporting events like the swimming carnival could offer students benefits that extend far beyond the pool.

The environment is a great opportunity for Formation; where it allows students to meet new people and affords them the time to develop and renew friendships in competition. In addition to this, and what was most evident last Friday, was the students’ strong desire to show their House, teachers, and friends the best version of themselves. Peer support, care, excitement for someone else’s success, and a great deal of diligence and focus are all expected from students during a swimming carnival.

Aside from the benefits to student Formation, events like swimming carnivals rejuvenate the school community, bringing it together and building on the school values to provide an exceptional Formation for students. Overall, the swimming carnival was a great success and are proud of the students who showed up, displayed House spirit and comradery. We would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our teachers and sport department. Their commitment to providing a fun and safe environment is greatly appreciated.

Attendance is key for developing House Culture and we look forward to seeing everyone at our annual Cross Country event on the 31 of March.
