Athletics Carnival

You could say it was a red letter day for everyone at the SMDP 2023 Athletics Carnival. We were treated to a beautiful day down at Newport Athletics Track. 

We saw all of our students having a go at a range of different athletic events, some for fun and some for points. Throughout the day we had fantastic sportspersonship and everyone left with a ribbon and a smile. 

Red ended the day in 1st place followed by Blue, Yellow and Green. A big thank you to the staff and parent helpers. Without your help we can’t run these events. Here is Eilidh and Marley’s acceptance speech.

Hi everyone,

We would like to thank everyone for participating in the SMDP athletics carnival. We stand proud at SMDP, in red house we try our best and a little bit more and we are happy that all the other houses tried their best too. 

Thank you teachers, as you set this up and we wouldn’t have this opportunity without you! We have fulfilled our goal not just by having a go but with all the cheering and support. - Eilidh and Sport captain, Marley.
