Harmony Day

Today we came together to recognise all of our differences and diversity in Australia and across the world. Students and staff have chosen to wear traditional clothing, sporting attire or the colour orange to celebrate Harmony Day.

Student Excellence

Welcome to a new school year! This term we have had eight studious students participate in the Victorian High Ability Program.  Students have been logging into an online course once a week to to learn with other high achievers. Jasmine, Will and Miranda have been solving ciphers in Maths, whilst Tara, Yiqin, Vivian, Aimee and Pareesa have been experimenting and practising different strategies to improve their writing.

Congratulations to all students this term who have dedicated their time to the program. In early April, the maths students will join neighbouring schools in a masterclass at Camelot. This is to mark the end of the program for participants. An English masterclass will be organised later in the year to celebrate their achievements.

Writing in Grade 6

As part of our writing program, Year 6 students were learning about the correct punctuation of dialogue. In pairs, they created a conversation between two characters, each writing and punctuating the dialogue correctly, and interspersing the speech with description and action to add interest.

In groups of their peers, the students then shared their conversations, receiving constructive feedback about their writing. Students were able to articulate areas of strength and areas for improvement in each others’ work.

Monash Waverley Division Swimming
