JAMS ETC
This returns to MPS Carnival in 2017!
The jam juggernaut has begun!! So far we have planned our stock list & even made a few jars of the hot commodity known as ‘fig & ginger’ jam. As produce comes into season, we will be ramping up production. By carnival time, we will have around 800 jars of delicious jams & preserves ready for the carnival.
HOW CAN I HELP? (I hear you say)
- Donation of goods to make the jams. We need white sugar, brown sugar, fruits of almost any kind, garlic, ginger, sunflower oil, chillies, spices, beetroot, tomatoes, onions, vegetables for pickles & so much more. Please take sugar donations to the office. If you would like to donate any other item, please contact Asha to discuss quantity & timing.
- Cooking sessions. Over the coming months we will be holding cooking sessions. Some of these will be in the SAKG at school. Some will be at Asha’s house. The more the merrier; many hands make light work & assorted other clichés. These sessions are a fun way to meet new people & pick up some jam making tips. Beginners are welcome. Please email Lou if you have any interest in helping.
- Make jam in the comfort of your own home. If you are already a jam master & want to make some jams or preserves in your kitchen, then please contact Asha to discuss this further.
- Sign up to help on carnival day. On carnival day, the jams etc. stall is where it all happens.

STUDENT CARNIVAL COMPETITION IDEAS!
At the last carnival there was a flag design and cake decorating competition. We are looking for some fresh ideas that appeal equally to girls and boy’s (or adults) for this year’s carnival. An entry box and entry forms will be available at the office for student suggestions, or you can enter via http://mpscarnival.com.au/index.php/get-involved/
If your idea is selected, you’ll win a fun carnival prize pack!
RAFFLE PRIZE DONATIONS
With no silent auction this year, we can pool a number of smaller items together in a theme and potentially have a larger prize draw. So don't worry if your denotable item may seem unusual – we’ll make it work.

Most classes have a stall allocated to them now. Ask your class rep for details and how to register to help on the day, or assist with planning.
